| Project Overview by Marie Loher
Sixth grade Social Studies students are studying Ancient Egypt. They are learning about hieroglyphics and cartouches.
Hieroglyphics are a kind of alphabet made up of pictures. Cartouches are names made from these hieroglyphics. Mainly pharoahs had this done on their tombs and temples so that they had protection from serpents and predators when they were dead.
To make cartouches in class, students wrote their names in hieroglyphics, made a border, then decorated them with color and glitter. | | |
