Corey | | To complete our annual Sand Baby Unit, students draw a self-portrait. Mr. DeVona, our middle/high school librarian, comes to the classroom and gives a lecture and demonstration on protrait sketching.
First, he introduces the students to the self-portraits he sketches every year on his birthday. He then illustrates the techniques of proportion and shadowing. Finally, he sketches two students in the room: Vanessa and Nicholas were the lucky ones this year.
The children remain spellbound during Mr. DeVona's presentation. We thank him for his time and for enthusiastically sharing his talent each year. | |
